Dark Factories: myth, future or necessity?
Factories without direct human intervention, operating autonomously and continuously, have gone from being a theoretical concept to a real possibility driven by advanced robotics, artificial intelligence and industrial hyperconnectivity. This session will explore the extent to which dark factories are an achievable reality, in which contexts they add value, and what technological, economic, and organizational barriers still exist. Through industrial experiences and visions, it will be debated whether this model responds to a competitive need or if it is still, to a large extent, an ideal yet to materialize.
