Digital Architecture for a Highly Automated Aircraft Engine Factory
Project D21 is ITP Aero’s initiative to build in Spain a highly automated factory for small and medium-sized rotary discs, covering turning and milling, post-broaching, finishing, NDT, inspection and automated warehouses. The plant will integrate more than 30 machines/robots/means of transport, with a target of 3,000 pieces/year in a 4,000 m² building and commissioning in Q2 2027. The presentation focuses on the digital architecture that makes this possible: moving from point-to-point integrations to an event-driven architecture based on digital scheduling, automated internal logistics (AGVs + intelligent storage), digital process/CNC twin and an orchestrator system that coordinates ERP–MES–machines and automation
